“THE UNION OF RUSSIAN PAINTERS. NEW TIME”
For the first time of the centenarian history of the organization

July, 27th–August, 28th 2010

In 2008 a legendary organization – the Union of Russian Painters – was reconstituted with the help of a group of Moscow painters.
As it has been a hundred years ago the twice born Union nowadays consolidates the authors not on the basis of the national identity but on the basis of their adherence to the traditions of the Russian realist school of painting and their firm faith in moral ideals of art.
The newly revived Union of Russian Painters represents all the best that exist today in Russian realistic painting. Among its participants there are 10 People’s Painters of Russia and 15 Academicians of the Russian Academy of Artists. Among them there are such well-known – even in Belarus – authors as Valentin Sidorov, Aleksey and Sergey Tkachyovy, Mikhail Abakumov, Nikolay Kolupaev, Nikolay Zaitsev and others (altogether 35 painters from 14 cities and towns of Russia).
