“Labyrinths of Memory” is Elisaveta Pastushenka’s first solo exhibition at the National Art Museum of the Republic of Belarus, featuring more than 30 works created in various techniques, utilising media such as sepia, sanguine and sauce.

Elisaveta Pastushenka was worn in 1982 in Minsk.

She graduated from the Vital Tsvirka Children’s Art School No. 11, the Minsk State Gymnasium-College of Arts and the Belarusian State Academy of Arts with a specialisation in Graphic Arts (2008). 

In 2008 Elisaveta Pastushenka joined the Belarusian Union of Artists (graphicarts section) and started teaching at the Belarusian State Academy of Arts at the Department of Drawing. In 2014 the artist was appointed Head of the Preparatory Section of the Belarusian State Academy of Arts.

Elisaveta Pastushenka has been exhibiting her work in Belarus and abroad as part of personal and collaborative projects, plein airs since 2005. Among these projects are: “Belgazprombank’s Autumn Salon” (2015–2023) and “Art-Minsk” (2018–2024, Minsk), “Art-Panorama” (2016, Grodna), “Viva Kola Art” (2023, 2024, Minsk), Exhibition of nominees for the National Prize in Fine Arts (2023, Minsk), “Easel and Book Graphics of the 20th–21st Century” (2023, Minsk). She has also taken part in projects implemented with the support of the Interstate Foundation for Humanitarian Cooperation of the CIS Member States: “Zdravniovo in Faces and Fates”, plein air and exhibition dedicated to the 175th  birthday of Ilya Repin(2019,Vitsebsk); “Bridges” graphic plein air and exhibition, (2021, Alexander Stieglitz State Academy of Art and Industry, St. Petersburg). Another of the projects is an exhibition dedicated to the 500th anniversary of the poem “Carmen de statura, feritate ac venatione bisontis” (2023, Minsk).

Along with her exhibition activities, since 2006 Elisaveta Pastushenka has been regularly commissioned to provide designs for books of fiction and educational materials bystate-owned publishing houses “Mastatskaya Litaratura”, “Narodnaya Asveta”, “Litaratura i Mastatstva”. Among these books are “The Golden Apple Tree” (2007), “Minsk and the Raven. Paris and the Ghost” (2010), “A Spring Named Gurgle-Gurgle” (2010), “We Have Our Heritage Left” (2011).

The artist has frequently collaborated with the Belarusfilm National Film Studio as a production designer and background artist on the animation projects “Centipede” (2011), “A Tale of Years Past. Coats of Arms: Bykhov” (2012), “Spring in the Autumn” (2014), “Song of the Lark” (2015), “Gusli” (2019), “The ABCs of Dangers-2” (2020), “Memorial Monuments of Belarus. The Breakthrough” (2024).

Elisaveta Pastushenka’s graphic works can be found at the “Zdravniovo” Estate Museum of Ilya Repin, “Tradition” German Pryanishnikov Art Gallery (Svetlagorsk), Museum of the Holy Dormition Monastery in Zhyrovichy, Gulsabira Khakimova Naberezhnye Chelny Art Gallery (Republic of Tatarstan, Russia), as well as in private collections in Russia, Germany, France, Poland, Spain and other countries.

The exhibition will be on display until 25 May, 2025.
