The exhibition project ‘Everyday Life is a Magical Moment’, dedicated to the 120th anniversary of the birth of Jadwiga Razdzyalowska, runs on April 21, 2022.
The exhibition will present about 50 works from the collection of the National Art Museum of the Republic of Belarus, the Belarusian Union of Artists, the National Center for Contemporary Arts, as well as from private collections.
Jadwiga Razdzyalowska got her professional education in the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw, in the Ludovika Mehoffer Free School of Painting and Drawing (Lublin) and in the Blanca Mercer School of Fine Arts (Warsaw).
The Second World War took Jadwiga Razdzyalowska to Belarus that was her second home.
At first, she lived in Baranavičy, then in Maladziečna. Jadwiga Razdzyalowska played an extremely important role in the formation of the Maladziečna artistic circle. In the second half of the 1950s, she and Kanstantsin Kharashevich founded the people’s studio of fine and decorative arts, where she taught composition. Jadwiga Razdzyalowska became a member of the Belarusian Union of Artists in 1948. She actively participated in exhibitions in Belarus and abroad. She was rewarded with the Honorary Diploma of the Supreme Council of the BSSR, and she was awarded the title of ‘Honored Worker of Culture of Poland’ in Poland. At the moment, the works of Jadwiga Razdzyalowska are in the National Art Museum of the Republic of Belarus, the museum in Zamość (Poland), the Minsk Regional Museum of Local Lore in Maladziečna, the Baranavičy Museum of Local Lore, the funds of the Belarusian Union of Artists, and private collections.
Jadwiga Razdzyalowska’s heritage is different in genres: a thematic painting, a landscape, an interior, a portrait and a still life.
The artist especially manifested herself in still lifes. Decorativeness, a changeable line of drawing, a clear contour, soft colors and a detailed composition are the main features of her works in the genre of still life. The artist depicts the beauty of a living reality having a gust of tones, colors, lines and texture. Her still lifes are full of inner harmony. They have some features to help the viewer to feel and to realize that everyday life is a magical moment.
