My Native Land, How Dear You Are to Me!..

My Native Land, How Dear You Are to Me!..

The National Art Museum of the Republic of Belarus Main building

On 28 August 2025 the National Art Museum of the Republic of Belarus will be presenting “My Native Land, How Dear You Are to Me!..”, an exhibition dedicated to the celebration of natural beauty in Belarusian landscape painting of the second half of the XX – early XXI century.

Landscape painting is one of the key genres in Belarusian art. It is an endless space of experimentation, a way of philosophical conceptualisation of life. But this display does not aim to plunge the viewer into profound questioning of matters of space and time. Among the urban bustle, the illusive pursuit of success, a maelstrom of personal and global problems, one sometimes wishes for a breath of fresh air, to be transported, even if for a single moment, to the treasured and hidden natural spots of Belarus. These landscapes delight the eye and force to travel into a world where sunkissed colours of ripe fields are neighbours to the wistful poetry of cool autumn evenings; where blossoming trees are a reminder of the infinity of life, the chance to break away from mundanity, and of hope for the future.

The works on display, created by renowned artists such as Vital Tsvirka, Pavel Maslenikau, Viktar Viarsotski, Viktar Gramyka, Anton Barkhatkou, Mikalai Bushchyk, Kanstantsin Kachan, Vyachaslau Kubarau, Mikalai Isayonak, Pyotr Daneliya, Dzmitry Aleynik welcome the viewer to take a loving look at the painterly beauty of Belarusian landscapes, to feel an entire spectre of emotions, among which one is always there – the feeling of unity with your homeland’s nature.

The exhibition will be on display until 29 September 2025.

Exhibition curator: Darina Zuyeva, junior researcher at the exhibition department of the National Art Museum of the Republic of Belarus.
