In 2024, Belarus celebrates the 80th anniversary of its liberation from the Nazi invaders. The landscape paintings of Belarusian artists Anton Vyrva, Ganna Konanava, Gleb Otchyk, Ganna Sadouskaya, Uladzimir Urodnich offer to comprehend the beauty and value of a peaceful creative life and to honor the memory of the liberators.
The exhibition consists of 35 oil paintings. The means by which authors convey the world around us are diverse: each artist builds their own reality through unique compositional techniques. The paintings on display are made recognizable by the author’s plasticity, complexity of their coloristic image and deep associativity.
The geography of the works represents different parts of Belarus – vast forests, rural expanses, urban views.
Each of the artists offers their own interpretation of the painterly landscape through the prism of the patriotic theme. The works convey the distinctive aura of the Belarusian landscape. The beauty of nature is depicted on the canvases with sincere love for the native land. Heartfelt, profound and evocative images of their native Belarus testify to the artists’ amazing sense of color. Preserving the traditions of academic excellence, yet at the same time striving to creatively rethink the experience of past generations, modern authors experiment with the newest techniques of creating images.
