The National Art Museum of the Republic of Belarus Exhibition building

On 5 September, 2025 “Cornflower Flutter”, an exhibition of Belarusian glass art, will open in hall 1 of the exhibition building of the National Art Museum of the of the Republic of Belarus (24 Karl Marx Street).

Blue (cobalt) glass is a medium typical of the Belarusian glassmaking tradition.

About 30 decorative multi-figure compositions and individual pieces will be on display, including works by artists such as: Siamion Grakhouski, Galina Isayevich, Tatsiana Malyshava, Lyudmila Myagkova, Sylvia Raudvee, Galina Sidarevich, Siargei Shetsyk and others, created at Nioman Glassworks and Felix Dzerzhinsky Barysau Crystalworks between 1930s and 2010s.

The display pieces are complemented by original photographs capturing the oft-overlooked poetry of Belarusian nature through the prism of shades of blue.

The exhibition will be on display until 10 October 2025.

Exhibition curators: Maria Shugalei, researcher at the Research and Funds Department of the National Art Museum of the Republic of Belarus, Yulia Zagorskaya, senior researcher at the Department of Belarusian Art of the 20th–21st century of the National Art Museum of the Republic of Belarus.
