Belarus – China. Cooperation and Friendship

The National Art Museum of the Republic of Belarus Exhibition building

The ‘Belarus – China. Cooperation and Friendship’ Exhibition (from the collection of the National Art Museum of the Republic of Belarus) opens at 3.00 pm on January 20, 2023 at the National Art Museum of the Republic of Belarus.

The exhibition is dedicated to the development of diplomatic relationship between the Republic of Belarus and the People’s Republic of China, established on January 20, 1992.

The formation of the collection began in 1960. It now has more than 1.500 monuments of Chinese artistic culture.

It presents various types of fine and decorative arts of China in the 17th – early 21st century: porcelain, ceramics, cloisonne enamel, artistic metal, carved and painted lacquers, stone carving, bone carving, wood carving and weaving; popular print art and ink wash painting (national painting on rice paper).

The exhibition ‘Belarus – China. Cooperation and Friendship’ is represented by items that are rarely displayed. They are donated to the museum by famous Chinese artists, or they are purchased from collectors over the years. As part of the exhibition project, about 70 unique exhibits will be presented.

This exhibition at the National Art Museum of the Republic of Belarus is a common contribution to expand and strengthen of strategic partnerships, friendship and cultural cooperation between the peoples of our countries.

 

The curators of the exhibition are Natalia Shchukina and Natalia Kalashnik, employees of the Scientific and Fund Department in the National Art Museum of the Republic of Belarus.

 

The exhibition runs until March 12, 2023
