The exhibition will present over fifty works created by contemporary masters of traditional Korean painting. Each artwork was created especially for this exhibition and embodies the artists’ aspiration to convey the spirit and beauty of national art in its modern form.
Minhwa – traditional Korean folk painting – emerged from the everyday life and spiritual world of ordinary people. Its vivid colours, decorative symbolism and motifs of nature reflect the universal human desires for happiness, longevity, love and harmony. Currently, Minhwa is not only a part of cultural heritage, but also a living art which inspires contemporaries to search for beauty and inner balance.
This exhibition marks an important chapter in the cultural dialogue between the Republic of Belarus and the Republic of Korea. This project highlights the deepening cooperation between our two nations in culture and art. It shows that the language of art is truly universal – capable of expressing profound emotions without the need for translation.
The exhibition “Minhwa: The Art of Korea” is not only an opportunity to explore the richness of traditional Korean art but also a symbol of hope for the future development of cultural exchange between Belarus and Korea.
The exhibition will run until November 16, 2025.
